Facilities

State-of-the-art campus. Sustainable design. Epic challenges.

Our Campus Mission

The facilities team works hard to maintain Epic's 9-million-square-foot campus featuring 37 interconnected office buildings (and counting), each with distinctive architecture and a creative theme, as well as a cutting edge training facility and five-story underground auditorium.

Green Initiatives

Our campus leverages alternative sources of energy, including 12 MW of wind and solar energy and 27,000 tons of cooling produced by one of the largest geothermal systems in North America.

Operations

The facilities team encompasses more than just skilled trades. Our shuttle drivers ensure Epic staff and visitors can get around campus safely and efficiently, while the horticulture team maintains and beautifies our 1000+ acres of gardens and green spaces.

FAQs

When was the campus built?

We purchased several hundred acres of property in Verona in the early 2000s with staff moving into the first buildings in late 2005. Since then, we’ve added several buildings every couple of years. We continue to grow and have large-scale construction projects planned for the next few years to come.

Is Epic off the grid?

We aren't technically off the grid, but being environmentally friendly is a guiding design principle for our campus. We have a variety of sustainable energy initiatives on campus - solar, wind, and geothermal, for example - and while there are days where we are energy neutral, we intend to remain connected to the grid.

What shift(s) does the facilities team cover?

While it may vary a bit, first shift is generally 6 am-2:30 pm, and second shift is generally 2 pm-10:30 pm.

Will I be on call?

With the presence of second-shift crews, the need for on-call support is reduced. Each trade has a backup rotation for monitoring and responding to alarms.

What benefits am I eligible for?

Facilities employees are eligible for the full Epic benefits package including paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave, health insurance from day one, 401K, sabbatical, and more. There's also the benefit of year-round work that's primarily indoors and at the same location each day.

How large is the team?

Including our seasonal horticulture crew, the team is more than 150 people.

Will I need to provide my own tools?

No. Epic will provide all the tools necessary to execute on your projects successfully.

Is there a dress code?

Other than dressing to meet safety requirements (like PPE), we do not have a specific dress code. Jeans and t-shirts are a popular choice!
