What do you like about working at Epic?

My initial reaction is to say I like the people and the atmosphere at Epic. It's true - if there's a better group of people to work with, I haven't found it. It's a rare day that I don't laugh, and I'm often impressed by the creativity and intelligence around me. What really keeps me here, though, are the chances I've gotten to try new things. I never feel stuck and I get to work on engaging projects where I can provide vision and direction. It's challenging and rewarding and keeps things fresh.

What are the projects you've worked on and what role did you play?

When I started, I was mostly writing about the changes we were making in each version of our software. I was able to spend time figuring out complex changes, deciphering development notes, and then simplifying them for customers. After a while, I changed gears to start writing about the different options for setting up the system and what we recommend. I helped start that role, so I got to figure out what it would be and direct the changes in our documentation and team structures. I recently switched roles again to join a team that's part of the sales process, so now I'm learning about another side of Epic that is new and exciting for me.

What are you passionate about?

I passionately hate when people say "utilize" when they mean "use." I consider myself a rather creative person with a decent vocabulary, but I cannot describe how much I hate that.

What interests do you have outside of work?

I spend a lot of time training and playing Capoeira. Right now, I am deeply interested in finding a shade of green that I like on my living room wall. I like euchre, fires, and being outside and combine the three whenever I can.
