Implementation
| Hometown: | Nieuwegein, The Netherlands |
| Education: | BA International Business, English & Spanish from the Hogeschool InHolland |
| Professional: | During and after my studies, I worked at the University Medical Center of Utrecht. |
I have been able to work with both hospitals in the US and the Netherlands. This enabled me to learn a lot about project management and healthcare in different countries. I started as an application coordinator for a customer in Florida, where I was responsible for the implementation of our scheduling application for outpatient clinics and departments.
Now that I'm back in the Netherlands, I've been working with two hospitals. Besides working on customer projects, I've also been involved in internal projects and the translation of the software into Dutch.
My job at Epic is often very busy, so I like to use the time outside of work to relax and recharge. Sometimes this can be watching a movie or reading a book. I also like having dinners with friends, visiting family and cooking. I like seeing new places whenever I can and often go on weekend trips to see new cities or new countries.
On Monday and Friday I'm usually in the office. These days we have internal meetings scheduled and I work on follow-up items and issues. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are the days I work onsite with the customer project team. Usually I travel there by train and go back to Den Bosch at the end of the day, although some weeks we'll stay at a hotel closer to the customer site.
The actual work on each day depends greatly on the status of the project. As an implementation specialist, I am involved in many things which can vary from meetings with your team to ad hoc resolving of issues. This results in a very diverse week in which I get to work with many different people.
