What do you like about working at Epic?

I like the variety-no two days are the same. I like working with smart, creative people. I like feeling that the work I'm doing has a larger purpose. And I like being able to chart my own course, instead of having to play politics or climb some kind of ladder.

What are the projects you've worked on and what role did you play?

Oh, I work on all kinds of fun things intended to help people learn and grow and maintain our culture. I organize our monthly company-wide Staff Meeting, arrange for onsite speakers to give talks to our employees, buy a bunch of books, train a couple of classes, pretty much look for ways to help people learn and become stronger employees.

What results have you achieved for our customers and for you?

Mostly things focused on a) expanding the learning opportunities available to our staff or b) making it easier to take advantage of those opportunities. We've got a lot of things I call 'easy wins'-ways to expand your knowledge and skills with little or no effort. We bring the speakers to you. We have audio CDs and DVDs you can check out with the click of a button and have sent to your office. We give everyone an individual professional development fund, then order those books and other materials for you.

What are you passionate about?

Connecting people and ideas-linking projects that seem unrelated but have some underlying common purpose. I get most excited when ideas start pinging off other ideas in my head. PING!

What interests do you have outside of work?

Raising a bright, inquisitive, kinda smart-mouthed 3-year-old (an endless source of amusement for me and my husband), reading fiction and non-fiction and Buffy comic books, doing the New York Times Sunday crossword puzzle...I'm pretty hip. (note to site editor - You probably don't want to print this one for me because people might get jealous :-)
