Do Something Extraordinary

Sabbaticals

Who says they're just for professors? Every 5 years, Epic gives you four weeks of paid time off (in addition to your normal vacation time) to do whatever you want. If you choose to spend that time exploring a country you've never visited before, most of the travel & hotel expenses for you and a companion are on us.

Learning

We're almost obsessive about lifelong learning around here, whether it's bringing the learning to you (onsite speaker series and our own internal library), sending you to the learning (external seminars and conferences), or encouraging you to learn right here at Epic (constantly revamping our internal curriculum, bonuses for certification in multiple applications). Staff are encouraged to truly take ownership of their continuing education, through the programs mentioned above plus Epic's funding of individual professional development funds, professional membership dues, and (where applicable) tuition reimbursement.

Motley Crew

With a staff of over 3,600 diverse individuals, it helps to have smaller communities so employees feel connected from day 1. As part of that effort, we're able to offer a vast collection of staff interest groups, clubs and teams. Epic's internal organization program, Motley Crew, means you'll be able to find (or create!) the perfect group to share your personal interests. Motley Crew groups are eligible to have as much as 50% of their operating costs reimbursed by Epic. From gaming and sports to language clubs and even volunteering, Motley Crew brings a welcome burst of excitement and engagement to your work week.

Odyssey

What's more Epic than going on an Odyssey? Every Odyssey trip encourages both the personal growth stimulated by travel and the renewal brought about by a good vacation. You'll have the opportunity to travel to thrilling locales — whether they're exotic and world-famous, or little-known wonders shared by an expert — while enjoying the company of friends, family, and of course fellow Epic staff. Best of all, Odyssey will take care of the boring details for you — we'll arrange airfare, lodging, activities and most of your meals. So take advantage of it!

Concierge

We've got a 24-hour onsite convenience shop where you can buy medicines, toiletries, snacks, frozen meals, reading materials — just about everything you might need. And we contract with local vendors for dry cleaning (including twice-weekly onsite pickup and delivery), as well as a once-weekly oil change service.

Culture

Our corporate philosophy and culture work hand-in-hand to create an environment in which employees can enjoy themselves while making a positive difference in the world of healthcare. (It's not a coincidence that the first two-thirds of our mission statement read 'Do good. Have fun.') Because we believe employees are most productive when they are comfortable, our employees enjoy a casual dress code and a campus with inventive architecture and notoriously quirky artwork and interior design.

We keep hierarchy to a minimum, hold company-wide staff meetings once a month, and offer every employee — no matter what his/her role or tenure — the opportunity to offer input on, and impact, our company's future direction. We feel strongly that open dialogue and effective teamwork are the way to go.

Campus

You have to see it to believe it. Our campus is beautiful, environmentally friendly, and shockingly cost-effective. The atmosphere is meant to inspire creativity and productivity — if you like where you're working, it helps you wake up excited, refreshed, and looking forward to the day. There are fun themes in the conference rooms, lots of natural light, plenty of fireplaces to make the winters cozy, and of course the art. We've got hiking and biking trails, ponds, staff vegetable gardens, a working farm, a campfire pit, and an outdoor recreation field, and on weekends you're welcome to bring in your pets. And don't miss the tree house or the waterfall...

Volunteering/Community Giving

Every year, Epic creates a list of local, national, and international charitable organizations. Each employee gets to choose one or more organizations from the list, and Epic then makes a donation on their behalf to the ones they chose. We also work with our customers and local organizations on other giving initiatives. And if it's time you're interested in donating, groups of Epic employees volunteer their personal time on a regular basis on evenings and weekends. These events don't require prior experience, so it's an easy way for you to help out a variety of organizations in the local community.

Social Gatherings

Part of our corporate mission statement is to "Have Fun", and our social gatherings aim to further this goal. Events include an annual anniversary party, company picnic, and parties during the holiday season, on Halloween and on Pi Day (March 14th at 1:59 p.m.).

Personal Computer Loans

Epic offers an interest free loan to any employee interested in purchasing a home computer, paid through payroll deductions. You are eligible for the loan after six months at Epic.
